A wealth of natural resources

  • Mineral reserves and potential likely to be underestimated since Sub-Saharan Africa remains largely unexplored
  • 60% of the world's available arable land, and competitive labor cost set the scene for Africa's agricultural revolution

Improved governance & macroeconomic environment

  • Prudent economic policies have contributed to lower public debt-to-GDP ratio, controlled inflation and reasonable budget deficits
  • A majority of countries now have democratically elected governments
